Chelsea - D

A wooden staircase with marble treads and steel spindles

  • Wood used: Birch Plywood, cladded with marble
  • Type of balustrade: Wrought Iron balustrade

The Chelsea - D staircase was a very challenging project in which we were asked to design and create a staircase with continuous handrails on a cut string design and partly marble clad (lower levels). Certainly the latter requirement added extra complication to the project as we had to work closely together with the stonemasons who made the marble treads.

The end result

The entire staircase is made from solid Beech, combined with steel spindles and a dark stained French Oak handrail.
The spindles are hand finished on site by an artisan in bespoke bronze patina. As with all our projects, the handrail was French polished after
installation.

What our client said

It was a pleasure to work with you guys and you did an amazing job – what a great addition the staircase is to the house! I will be in touch.
