Shirley - A

A wooden staircase with a wrought iron balustrade

  • Wood used: Solid Beech (painted) and varnished Black American Walnut treads & risers
  • Type of balustrade: Wrought Iron balustrade

This staircase project in Shirley surely tested our team of craftsmen. We started with a very large and square stairwell, whereas the client wanted to have a grand and sweeping one.

The treads, risers and handrails are made from solid Black American Walnut. They’re combined with painted stringers and old bronze finished spindles, giving the whole staircase a rich but subtle appearance of understated luxury.

The end result

Needless to say, we are extremely proud of this horseshoe shaped stairwell! Not only does this stairwell within the square void give the whole space a different dynamic, it also makes an exceptional statement throughout the whole house.
