Work in Progress - Chelsea - Egg Group Ltd.

Chelsea is the place to be right now. 2 months ago we introduced you to our collaboration with New Wave Ltd. This month we will be highlighting a 6 flight project where Smet Staircases and Egg Group Ltd are working closely together.

The project stretches over 7 Floor levels from the Basement Floor on level -2 all the way up to the roof terrace. As with two other projects, Chelsea - A & Chelsea - B, we have done for the same team that is also behind this project, they chose our highly successful blockstair design.

This model is made out of 80 mm thick solid hardwood – French Oak in this particular case – and is mitre joined between each tread and riser. This leads to an increased gluing surface so that the staircase becomes self-supporting.

All of this will be finished with a glass balustrade to create a very minimalistic and clean look.

Another special feature is the 5 tread podium at the start of the staircase from Ground to First, which will have incorporated LED lights underneath every tread to illuminate the stairway.

We are already looking forward to sharing the end result with you!

Not just yet but all of a sudden winter will be coming home. Days are getting shorter, temperature drops and all of us, if we haven’t already, will turn our heating on and start chopping logs for the wood burner. Back to the cosy indoors after the long hot summer. This combined with the wind...
