Smet Staircases During 2017

Another year flew by again so time to have a quick overview on all the amazing things that happened during 2017.

The year started with a lot of positive feedback on the feature piece staircase that we installed at The Duchess of Cornwall Inn in Cornwall. This was a very challenging project with a very tight deadline to get everything ready for the royal inauguration by H.R.H. Prince Charles, but as the saying goes: ‘Diamonds are made under pressure.’.

Here at Smet Staircases we take pride in every staircase that we deliver and stop at nothing until the Client is 100% satisfied. Mentioning every project that we’ve done would take us too far, but let us bring up a few that stood a bit out this year.

First of all we had the 5-story house in Chelsea where we teamed up with our old friends from New Wave London. The brief was a 4-flight staircase with continuous handrail from top to bottom, a cut string design and 2 flights to be cladded with marble. The end result looks stunning and we’ll share some professional pictures in the run of next year to show for it!

Next up we had another project in Chelsea together with Egg Group Ltd. As with previous projects that we’ve done together they chose our tried and tested blockstair design finished off with some grey tinted glass panels. Follow our social media and subscribe to our newsletter if you want to see how this one turned out.

In both May and September we also exhibited at two trend setting design shows that is Grand Designs Live and Decorex international. We always take great pleasure in meeting all of you there and helping you in a very personal way with your staircase project. We can now also officially announce the in 2018 we will again be exhibiting at both Grand Designs Live and Decorex International!

Finally, we are looking forward to 2018 for various reasons. Some of them we unfortunately can’t share at this moment in time, but one of those reasons that we can share is the amazing project at Manhattan Loft Gardens that we have coming up shortly after the Holiday Season. This fully curved and free standing staircase will be the centre of attention once installed in the Penthouse on the 42nd storey.

We hope 2017 has been as kind to you as it has been to us and we’re already looking forward to all the great things 2018 will bring. The entire Smet Team would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
